Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Nelson Agholor will not be charged after an investigation into an alleged sexual assault case, the Philadelphia District Attorney's office announced Monday.

Police began an investigation into an alleged sexual assault involving Agholor and a a dancer last month at Cheerleaders Gentlemen's Club, a strip club in South Philadelphia. Agholor and temmates Fletcher Cox and Connor Barwin went there after the Eagles' final practice of their offseason minicamp.

Police turned the investigation over to the district attorney's office three weeks ago.

"The District Attorney's Family Violence and Sexual Assault Unit and detectives from the Philadelphia Police Department's Special Victims Unit thoroughly investigated the allegations of sexual assault against Nelson Agholor," District Attorney Seth Williams said in a statement. "As a result of this joint investigation, our staff and the Police reached the conclusion that we lacked sufficient evidence to bring charges against Mr. Agholor, therefore no charges will be filed."

Cox and Barwin previously released statements saying they were at Cheerleaders but left before the alleged incident occurred.

The 23-year-old Agholor was drafted in the first round by the Eagles in 2015 and finished last season with 23 receptions for 283 yards and one touchdown in 13 games as a rookie.
