Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Starling Marte was added to the National League All-Star team in place of the injured Yoenis Cespedes of the New York Mets.
National League manager Terry Collins made the announcement Saturday.

Marte joins Pittsburgh closer Mark Melancon as the Pirates' representatives for Tuesday's game in San Diego. It is the sixth straight year in which the Pirates have sent more than one player to the All-Star Game.
Marte, 27, entered Saturday ninth in the National League in batting average (.316), second in stolen bases (27), fourth in multi-hit games (31), tied for sixth in hits (97) and tied for second in outfield assists (nine). He is coming off a Gold Glove season and leads the major leagues with 25 outfield assists since 2015.
Cespedes left Friday's game with a minor leg injury and is expected back after the All-Star break.
