Free-agent guard Gerald Henderson signed with the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

A seven-year NBA veteran, Henderson has appeared in 463 games (292 starts) for the Trail Blazers and Charlotte Bobcats/Hornets, averaging 12 points, three rebounds and two assists in 26 minutes per game.

"Gerald Henderson is an experienced veteran that will bring professionalism and leadership to our young group and developing team culture," said Bryan Colangelo, president of basketball operations for the 76ers.

"Adding a dynamic wing with defensive ability like Gerald is also something that we had hoped to accomplish this off season."

Henderson played three seasons at Duke before being selected by Charlotte with the 12th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. His father, Gerald Henderson Sr., played 13 seasons in the NBA, including parts of two seasons with the Sixers.
