The Miami Heat offered veteran guard Dwyane Wade a two-year, $40 million deal to remain in South Beach, the Miami Herald reported on Monday. Wade has yet to respond to the offer, which includes a player option for the second season.
The reported offer comes on the heels after the team signed center Hassan Whiteside to a four-year, $98 million contract on Friday.
Wade, who has reportedly received interest from both Denver and Milwaukee, has played with Miami since the club selected him with the fifth overall pick of the 2003 draft.
A 12-time All-Star and three-time NBA champion, Wade averaged 19.0 points, 4.6 assists and 4.1 rebounds last season. The 34-year-old signed a one-year, $20 million deal prior to that campaign.
