Finding a replacement for Derrick Rose, the Chicago Bulls agreed to a two-year contract with free agent point guard Rajon Rondo, multiple media outlets reported Sunday.

The Undefeated reported that the deal is worth nearly $28 million, while the Chicago Tribune put the value at $30 million.

"I'm excited," Rondo told The Undefeated. "Great organization with pieces around me that I'm excited about."

The Bulls dealt point guard Rose, a former NBA Most Valuable Player, to the New York Knicks last month.

Rondo, 30, spent just one season with the Sacramento Kings, averaging 11.9 points, six rebounds and a league-high 11.7 assists per game. His season was marred by a one-game suspension for using a homophobic slur against referee Bill Kennedy, who is gay.

Rondo told ESPN in June that the Kings were derailed by in-house turmoil.

"Too much tension. I've never witnessed or experienced a thing like that in my 10-year career," he said. "There were too many distractions on and off the court. The organization as a whole, I don't think was together completely. I think as a team you have to want the best for the next man beside you, and that wasn't the case with the Sacramento Kings."

In 645 career NBA games, Rondo is averaging 11 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.8 assists. A first-round draft pick out of Kentucky in 2006, he spent his first 8 1/2 seasons with the Boston Celtics before he was dealt to the Dallas Mavericks, for whom he had a poor half-season in 2014-15.
