Carlos Bacca scored as Colombia posted a 1-0 victory over the United States in the third-place match of the Copa America Centenario on Saturday night in Glendale, Ariz.

Bacca's goal came in the 31st minute as Colombia defeated the Americans for the second time in the tournament. Colombia earlier beat the U.S. 2-0 in the opener for both teams.

The Columbia goal came after James Rodriguez played the ball toward the right side of the net and Santiago Arias sent a header across the front to Bacca, who tipped the ball past U.S. goalkeeper Tim Howard.

The U.S. had a chance to tie in the 37th minute but Colombia goalkeeper David Ospina blocked a shot by Jermaine Jones and the follow-up by Alejandro Bedoya was wide.

American Clint Dempsey was thwarted on a free kick by Ospina early in the second half.

The title game is Sunday between Chile and Argentina at East Rutherford, N.J.
