Agnieszka Radwanska cruises into quarterfinals at Eastbourne

Top-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland breezed into the quarterfinals of the Eastbourne Invitational by posting a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Eugenie Bouchard on Wednesday at Eastbourne, England.

Radwanska dismissed the Canadian in little over an hour, breaking her five times to set up a match against Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia. The 12th-seeded Cibulkova gained entry into the quarters of the grass-court tournament with a 7-6 (3), 6-3 triumph over Ukrainian qualifier Kateryna Bondarenko.

Former tournament champion Carolina Wozniacki of Denmark was bounced by Puerto Rican qualifier Monica Puig, as the latter recorded a 4-6, 6-3, 6-4 win. Wozniacki won the tournament in 2009, but has just three victories under her belt since returning from a right ankle injury.

Eleventh-seeded Johanna Konta of Great Britain rallied to post a 5-7, 6-4, 6-0 victory over fifth-seeded Czech Petra Kvitova.

In other matches on Wednesday, Frenchwoman Kristina Mladenovic recorded a 6-4, 7-6 (4) win over German Anna-Lena Friedsam and Russian Elena Vesnina enjoyed a 7-6 (2), 6-4 triumph over American Madison Brengle.

Nottingham Open

Sixth-seeded American Steve Johnson advanced to the quarterfinals of the Nottingham Open by recording a 7-6 (4), 7-6 (1) victory over 11th-seeded Canadian Vasek Pospisil on Wednesday at Nottingham, England.

Fellow American Sam Querrey was not as fortunate, however, as the fifth-seeded star was bounced by ninth-seeded Marcos Baghdatis of Cyprus. Baghdatis outlasted Querrey with a 1-6, 7-6 (8), 6-4 triumph.

Top-seeded Kevin Anderson of South Africa recorded a 6-3, 7-6 (6) victory over 14th-seeded Spaniard Fernando Verdasco, second-seeded Pablo Cuevas of Uruguay posted a 6-7 (4), 7-6 (5), 6-4 win over Great Britain's Daniel Evans and fourth-seeded Ukrainian breezed to a 6-3, 7-5 triumph over Canadian Frank Dancevic.

Also on Wednesday, seventh-seeded Andreas Seppi of Italy posted a 6-2, 6-3 win over Franchman Adrian Mannarino, Luxembourg's Gilles Muller secured a 6-7 (4), 7-6 (4), 6-3 victory over Russian Mikhail Youzhny and Dudi Sela of Israel recorded a 6-3, 2-6, 6-4 triumph over German Benjamin Becker.
