Skylar Diggins gets engaged

DALLAS, June 22 (UPI) -- WNBA star Skylar Diggins is officially engaged.

The Dallas Wings all-star announced her engagement to college sweetheart Daniel Smith Monday on Twitter.

Diggins and Smith met at Notre Dame. While playing basketball for the Irish, Diggins was a two-time first-team All-American. Smith was a wide receiver on the football team.

Smith proposed to Diggins, 25, at the Mary Tomas Gallery in Dallas, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The guard has averaged 14.6 points, 4.4 assists, and 2.2 rebounds per game during her four-year career.

The Tulsa Shock drafted Diggins with the No. 3 pick in the 2013 WNBA Draft.
