OAKMONT, Pa. -- The United States Golf Association announced Saturday afternoon that Oakmont Country Club will host the U.S. Open for a record 10th time in 2025.

"Bringing the U.S. Open Championship to Oakmont for the 10th time in 2025 is testament to the quality of this fine golf course and the longevity of the strong relationship the USGA has with the club," USGA president Diana Murphy said in a statement.

Oakmont, currently hosting the 116th U.S. Open, also hosted the championship in 1927, 1935, 1953, 1962, 1973, 1983, 1994 and 2007.

"Oakmont and the USGA have had a very special relationship for nearly a century, and we are honored they have chosen Oakmont to host a record 10th U.S. Open," Oakmont president Ed Stack said.

Additionally, Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York -- which hosts the Open in 2018 -- will hold the tournament again in 2026, the USGA said Saturday.

"You can't write the history of Shinnecock without writing the history of the USGA, and vice versa," Shinnecock Hills president Barrett N. Pickett said in a statement. "Our relationship today is stronger than ever."

Shinnecock is the only course to host the U.S. Open in three centuries, doing so in 1896, 1986, 1995 and 2004.
