Philadelphia Eagles receiver Nelson Agholor is under investigation after a female dancer accused him of sexually assaulting her at a Philadelphia strip club, according to published reports.
The incident allegedly occurred at Cheerleaders Gentlemen's Club in South Philadelphia on Thursday afternoon and was reported to police later that night.
Philadelphia police didn't name Agholor as the suspect during a news conference on Friday but released a statement saying the allegation was "regarding a sexual assault and a member of the Philadelphia Eagles organization."
The Eagles confirmed they have knowledge of the investigation.
"We are aware of the police investigation involving Nelson Agholor," the team said in a statement. "The organization has been in contact with Nelson and with the proper authorities in Philadelphia. Because of the legal nature of this matter, we will have no further comment."
The 27-year-old dancer told police she was sexually assaulted inside the establishment.
Agholor was reportedly with two teammates at the club, which is located close to the Eagles' practice facility.
Agholor was Philadelphia's first-round pick in 2015 out of USC. He had 23 receptions for 283 yards last season.
