Sam Bradford complimentary of Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson

PHILADELPHIA -- Despite his late April trade request and a two-week absence from the team's voluntary workouts, quarterback Sam Bradford and head coach Doug Pederson have developed a very good relationship. "Man, he's just a class act," Bradford said of Pederson. "He's a great guy. I think I'm even closer to him now than I was before. I give him a lot of credit for handling it the way he did. I just have a lot of respect for him. The way he handled everything was first class all the way."

Responded Pederson: "It means the trust factor is there and that's what you want to see with your starting quarterback. He took some time away to evaluate the situation and came back and said, 'Hey, you know what? Maybe it's OK. Maybe we're going to be alright.' For him to do that and come back and trust me that way, one of the things I've told you guys and I've told the team from Day 1 is to be open and transparent. I'm going to do that with any player. I'm going to let them know where they stand and where I stand on issues. It's great that he's done as well as he's done. And he's put himself in a great position now going into training camp."

Most of the Eagles quarterbacks, wide receivers and tight ends will work out together in the San Diego area for about a week during the team's June-July break before the start of training camp on July 25. In March, tight end Zach Ertz and wide receiver Jordan Matthews spent several days with Bradford at his home in Oklahoma City, working out and just spending time together. All three also will be in San Diego.

"As good as it is to get on the field and throw routes and work out together, I think it's even better anytime you can spend time (with each other) away from the facility," Bradford said. "Just getting together, spending a few days together over the six weeks (off), not all going our separate ways for the whole time, that's probably the best part of getting together."
