Seventy-seventh-ranked Venezuela won back-to-back Copa America games for the first time in its history, stunning ninth-ranked Uruguay 1-0 Thursday in a Group C match at Philadelphia.
Salomon Rondon's 36th-minute goal was the difference. Venezuela's Alejandro Guerra took a long, looping shot from just over the midfield line, and Uruguay goalkeeper Fernando Muslera was barely able to tip the ball onto the crossbar. The rebound landed for Rondon, who tapped it in on a bounce over Muslera.
