Cornerback Aqib Talib of the Denver Broncos was released from the hospital Monday after being shot in the lower right led Sunday morning in Dallas.

Talib said he was at a park and intoxicated when the shooting occurred, local ABC-affiliate WFAA reported on Monday, despite earlier reports stating the incident took place during a fight at a strip club.

"Everything was a blur and I was too intoxicated to remember what happened," Talib told police, according to WFAA's Rebecca Lopez.

Talib was treated for the gunshot wound at nearby Medical City Dallas Hospital, per WFAA. Broncos head coach Gary Kubiak said the injury was minor and required stitches and minor medical cleanup. He is expected to make a full recovery.

The eight-year veteran is entering his third season with Denver, totaling 97 tackles (15 assists) and four interceptions in 30 games with the team.

Talib did not accompany his Broncos teammates to the White House for Monday's celebration of last season's Super Bowl championship with President Barack Obama.
