The Seattle Mariners acquired infielder Patrick Kivlehan from the Texas Rangers in exchange for a player to be named later or cash considerations, the Mariners announced Sunday.

To make room on the Mariners 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher Evan Scribner was transferred to the 60-day disabled list with a strained right latissimus dorsi muscle.

Kivlehan was the player to be named later from the November 16 trade with the Rangers in which the Mariners acquired outfielder Leonys Martin and right-handed pitcher Anthony Bass from Texas in exchange for right-handed pitcher Tom Wilhelmsen, outfielder James Jones and a player to be named later.

Kivlehan, 26, hit .184 with 17 runs scored, eight doubles, one home run and 16 RBIs in 36 games with Triple-A Round Rock this season.
