Ariya Jutanugarn of Thailand carded a bogey-free 6-under-par 65 on Saturday to take a one-stroke lead over In Gee Chun of South Korea, who tied a course-record with a 62, and two others heading to the final round of the Kingsmill Championship on the River Course at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
The 20-year-old Jutanugarn, who claimed her first LPGA Tour victory two weeks ago in the Yokohama Tire LPGA Classic, birdied three of four holes through No. 6 and then added four birdies in five holes through No. 17.
Jutanugarn was at 10-under 203 through 54 holes.
"It's nice, but actually, I don't know what's going to happen tomorrow," said Jutanugarn, who will be trying to win in her second straight start. "But it's good enough for me to be right there."
Chun, the reigning U.S. Women's Open champion, birdied the last six holes of the front nine before adding another at No. 10 for seven in a row, then added birdies at Nos. 16 and 17 in her bogey-free round.
Chun tied the course mark set by Jiyai Shin of South Korea in 2012 despite not feeling well.
"Because the weather, and because I have allergies, it's really bad," said Chun, who won nine times on the Korean LPGA Tour. "I did not feel good. And it was a lot of windy today, so I did not play with high expectations.
" ... And my friends are here. I was so happy to see them enjoying my play; then I focused more on my game."
So Yeon Ryu of South Korea, the 36-hole leader after a 64, stayed in at least a tie for the lead until making her only bogey in a 69 on the final hole to fall into a tie for second with Chun and Pornanong Phatlum of Thailand, who had three late birdies in a 65.
Laetitia Beck of Israel posted a bogey-free 66 and was two strokes back in a tie for fifth with Minjee Lee of Australia, who totaled 68, and Amy Yang of South Korea, who finished at 69.
Stacy Lewis, No. 4 in the Rolex World Rankings and trying to snap a two-year winless streak, fell back with a 70 and was three shots down in a tie for eighth with Cristie Kerr (64), Alejandra Llaneza (67) of Mexico, Su Oh (67) of Australia, Sei Young Kim (67) of South Korea, Gerina Piller (68) and Mika Miyazato (70) of Japan.
