The Buffalo Bills placed running back Dri Archer on the reserve/did not report list Wednesday after he was claimed off waivers last week from the New York Jets.

The Jets had signed Archer to a reserve/future contract in February, but he was cut last week and never arrived in Buffalo.

The reserve/did not report designation gives the Bills the flexibility to use the roster spot for another player until the Archer's situation is sorted out.

The speedy Archer was drafted in the third round by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2014. He played in 20 games for the Steelers and was used mostly in kickoff returns.

The Steelers waived Archer in early November and he did not catch on with another team during the remainder of the 2015 season.
