Quarterback Zach Mettenberger was waived by the Tennessee Titans.

Mettenberger started 10 games for the Titans, who went 0-10 in those starts, and had 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. The Titans had seven or fewer points in five of his 10 career starts.

The LSU product was behind Matt Cassel and starter Marcus Mariota on the depth chart entering offseason workouts.

A sixth-round pick in 2014, Mettenberger vowed to compete for the starting job when Mariota was drafted second overall in the 2015 NFL Draft.

An offseason change at general manager brought in Jon Robinson, who was a scout in New England when Cassel started 15 games off the bench when Tom Brady suffered a knee injury.
