Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside has been diagnosed with a sprained MCL in his right knee and his availability for Monday's Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals is in doubt.
The injury was pinpointed during an MRI exam on Sunday, one day after Whiteside left Game 3 of the series against the Toronto Raptors. The Heat listed Whiteside as day-to-day.
Miami announced the injury but didn't reveal the severity of the sprain -- an injury that typically sidelines a basketball player for at least a couple weeks.
Whiteside reinjured the knee during the second quarter of Saturday's game. He originally sprained the knee during Game 1 of the series.
Toronto leads the series 2-1.
