WASHINGTON -- Washington Wizards guard John Wall was ruled out for Wednesday night's home game against the Brooklyn Nets, the team announced shortly before tipoff.

The Wizards' Twitter account said Wall was out with a sore right knee. The three-time All-Star was one of two players who had seen action in all 77 games before Wednesday.

The other player, Ramon Sessions, replaced Wall in the starting lineup.

Wall leads the Wizards in scoring (19.9) and ranks third in the NBA with 10.2 assists per game.

Washington (37-40) remains mathematically alive for a playoff berth in the Eastern Conference but must win all of its remaining games for any hope. The Wizards are 3 1/2 games behind the Detroit Pistons for the eighth and final playoff berth and 1 1/2 games in back of the ninth-place Chicago Bulls.
