The Carolina Panthers re-signed defensive tackle Kyle Love to a one-year contract Monday.

In 2015, Love played in 15 regular-season games with two starts for Carolina, recording 19 tackles, three sacks, four quarterback pressures and one fumble recovery. He was part of a defense that ranked sixth in the NFL in total defense and scoring defense.

"This has been the best organization that I've been a part of," Love said. "I love the coaching staff, the team and the city of Charlotte so it was a no-brainer to come back. This is the team that brought me in when nobody else wanted me and that speaks volumes. I just happy to be back at work and get ready to play."

The 6-foot-1, 315-pounder Love, 29, signed with the Panthers as a free agent in December 2014. He entered the NFL in 2010 as an undrafted free agent with New England, playing for the Patriots through 2012. He spent time with Kansas City and Jacksonville in 2013.

For his career, Love has played in 58 regular-season games (27 starts) and has produced 88 tackles, 8.5 sacks, two fumble recoveries and one pass defensed. He has played in 10 postseason games with four starts.
