Travis Ford was named head coach at St. Louis University.

Ford was fired at Oklahoma State earlier this month but had a pair of 20-win seasons with the Cowboys, who played a fast-breaking style. Ford, a former point guard at Kentucky and part of the 1993 Final Four team, said he'll bring the same approach to SLU. He replaces Jim Crews.

"We are going to deliver a brand of basketball that is fun, exciting, aggressive and up-tempo -- one that recruits will love playing and fans will love watching," Ford said in a statement.

Ford had a 155-111 record in eight seasons and went to the NCAA Tournament five times. He has 345 wins in 19 seasons at Massachusetts, Eastern Kentucky and Campbellsville.

The Billikens went 22-42 the past two seasons. A former assistant to Rick Majerus, Crews was 77-56 in four seasons.
