Arizona coach Sean Miller shut the door on speculation he might be interested in the Pittsburgh job on Tuesday by announcing he has "no interest" in the vacancy.

Pittsburgh is Miller's alma mater and so his name rose to the top of the rumor rill when Jamie Dixon left as Panthers coach to take the job at TCU, which is Dixon's alma mater.

But Miller released a statement on Tuesday to make it clear he won't be a candidate for the position.

"I have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for the university and city of Pittsburgh," Miller said in the statement. "My memories and friendships of my time as a student-athlete are the best and strongest of my lifetime.

"However, I have one of the great jobs in college basketball at Arizona. I have no interest in becoming the head coach at Pitt."

Miller, 47, has gone 188-61 in seven seasons with the Wildcats but has never reached the Final Four. Arizona went 25-9 this season and lost to Wichita State in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Panthers went 21-12 this season and lost to Wisconsin in the first round on Friday. Dixon, who went 328-123 in 13 seasons at Pitt, accepted the TCU opening on Monday.

"I wish them luck in replacing Jamie Dixon, a tremendous coach and person, who did an incredible job in his time there," Miller said.

Dixon, 50, was formally introduced as Horned Frogs coach on Tuesday. He said the timing felt right to make the move.

Dixon made 45.1 percent of his 3-point shots as a TCU player, the second-best percentage in school history. He finished his playing career in 1987 and was inducted into the Horned Frogs' Hall of Fame in 2007.
