He became an unrestricted free agent March 9.

Godfrey played his first six-plus seasons with the Panthers.

The Falcons also announced that they signed safety Damian Parms, wide receiver Aldrick Robinson, and cornerback DeMarcus Van Dyke.

Parms was signed by Atlanta as an undrafted free agent following the 2015 NFL draft but didn't make the squad.

Robinson had 30 catches over parts of four seasons with the Washington Redskins from 2011-14.

Van Dyke was a third-round pick of the Oakland Raiders in 2011 and has also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers and Minnesota Vikings.
