Toronto Raptors add veteran F Jason Thompson

The Toronto Raptors officially added veteran power forward Jason Thompson to the roster, the club announced Tuesday.

The 6-foot-11 Thompson was recently released by the Golden State Warriors after averaging 2.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in 28 games. The eight-year veteran has career averages of 9.0 points and 6.7 rebounds in 569 NBA games.

"We are pleased to add a player like Jason who has logged quality minutes in more than 500 career games," Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri said in a statement.

Thompson, 29, had his best season in 2009-2010 when he averaged 12.5 points and 8.5 rebounds for the Sacramento Kings.
