Oakland Raiders punter Marquette King signed a five-year contract extension reportedly worth $16.5 million.

The Raiders confirmed the signing Monday with King, who punted 83 times last season and had 40 punts downed inside the opponents' 20, which was second in the NFL. King averaged 40.7 net yards and had a gross average of 44.5 yards per punt.

King first joined the Raiders in 2012 as an undrafted free agent out of Fort Valley State and missed his rookie season due to injury.

In 2013, when Shane Lechler signed with the Houston Texans in free agency, King beat out veteran Chris Kluwe for the starting job.
