Howard, a 26-year-old Ohio State product, signed with Atlanta last August and was placed on injured reserve before the season opener.

He originally signed with the Houston Texans as a free agent on May 10, 2013. He was signed to the New England Patriots' practice squad on Oct. 16, 2013, and to the New York Giants' practice squad on Dec. 25, 2013.

Mooney, 29, has 14 games of NFL experience with the Tennessee Titans combined between 2012 and 2013. He has five career carries for 19 yards.

The Army product signed with the Falcons last May but wound up on injured reserve before the 2016 opener.
