The Sacramento Kings nixed a promotional giveaway before Monday night's game against the Milwaukee Bucks after center DeMarcus Cousins raised concerns about insensitivity.
The Kings planned to give away T-shirts with an image of a purple monkey to commemmorate the Chinese Year of the Monkey, which begins Feb. 8. But Cousins thought the shirts could be construed as offensive, particularly on the first day of Black History Month, and the staff canceled the giveaway before fans arrived at Sleep Train Arena.
