Second baseman Howie Kendrick is heading back to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Multiple media outlets reported Friday that he has agreed to a two-year, $20 million deal with the Dodgers.

Kendrick turned down a one-year, $15.8 million qualifying offer from the Dodgers at the beginning of the offseason and became a free agent. The Dodgers would have received a compensation-round draft pick if Kendrick had signed elsewhere.

The Dodgers re-signed Kendrick even though they have Enrique Hernandez and Chase Utley penciled in at second base.

Kendrick hit .295 with nine homers and a .746 OPS in 117 games for the Dodgers last season. Kendrick played his previous nine seasons with the Los Angeles Angels and was an All-Star in 2011.
