Houston Astros agree to one-year deal with RHP Doug Fister

The Houston Astros agreed to a one-year deal with right-hander Doug Fister on Thursday, the club announced.

Fister will reportedly received $7 million in salary. Incentives give him a chance to make $12 million.

Fister, who turns 32, next week, was 5-7 with a 4.19 ERA for the Washington Nationals last season. It was a sharp drop-off from his solid 2014 campaign when he went 16-6 with a 2.41 ERA.

Fister has a 65-63 career record and 3.42 ERA in 6 1/2 major-league seasons. He has pitched for Seattle, Detroit and Washington.
