Washington Wizards G Bradley Beal has broken nose, concussion

Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal was diagnosed with a broken nose and concussion that will sideline him for Tuesday night's game against the Toronto Raptors.

The Wizards said Tuesday that Beal's status is day to day. According to the NBA's concussion policy, he must complete the Return to Participation Exertion Protocol before he's cleared to play again.

Beal was injured during the second quarter of Monday night's 116-91 loss to Boston while guarding Celtics guard Marcus Smart, whose forearm struck Beal in the face. He left the court with four points and blood pouring from his nose.

The injury-plagued Beal is the Wizards' second leading scorer this season. In 22 games, he is averaging 15.9 points and also 3.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists.
