Former University of Texas football quarterback Vince Young was arrested in Austin on a misdemeanor charge of driving while intoxicated.
The Austin American-Statesman reported the arrest and records show Young was booked into Travis County Jail at 12:46 a.m. Monday.
A Travis County judge set bail at $2,000, the Statesman reported Monday.
Young is a UT employee working as a diversity and community engagement officer in the Division of Diversity and Community Engagement. He establishes and leads fundraising efforts that support the educational programs.
Young was All-American at Texas as a quarterback and played in the NFL for six seasons following his selection in the first round of the 2006 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans.
