The Miami Dolphins are expected to hire Clyde Christensen as their offensive coordinator, according to multiple reports.

Christensen, who has spent 14 seasons on the coaching staff of the Indianapolis Colts, will work under new Dolphins head coach Adam Gase, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter on Saturday night.

Christensen, 59, interviewed for the position this weekend.

Christensen was the Colts' quarterbacks coach the past four seasons and worked with Andrew Luck. He also served three seasons as offensive coordinator with Peyton Manning in Indianapolis and seven seasons as the Colts' wide receiver coach.

Gase, who was named the 12th head coach in Dolphins franchise history on Jan. 9, is expected to handle play-calling duties and rely on Christensen to help craft the weekly game plan.

Gase said last week that he plans to call the offensive plays after doing so the past three seasons as offensive coordinator with the Chicago Bears and Denver Broncos.

"I really enjoy that aspect of putting the game plan together with the offensive staff," Gase said. "So going into this season, that's how we are going to start, with me calling them."
