Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry will enter the 2016 NFL Draft and forgo his remaining college eligibility, ESPN reported Thursday.

The Alabama running back rushed for 2,219 yards and 28 touchdowns this season, capped by 158 yards and three touchdowns in the Crimson Tide's 45-40 victory over Clemson in the College Football Playoff championship game on Monday night.

Henry is listed as the No. 2 running back by NFLDraftScout.com in the 2016 draft rankings behind Ohio State's Ezekiel Elliott and the No. 37 prospect overall.

Earlier in the day, Alabama safety Eddie Jackson announced that he will return for his senior seasons in 2016.

Jackson, a first-team All-SEC selection in 2015, chose not to enter the NFL draft, he said Thursday.

The Crimson Tide lose two senior starters in the secondary from their national title-winning defense.

"It feels good to be coming back with my brothers for another year," Jackson said via Twitter.

Jackson moved from cornerback to safety in spring practice and had six interceptions with two touchdowns in 2015.

On Wednesday, linebacker Tim Williams announced that he will return to Alabama next season.
