The New York Yankees on Tuesday acquired left-handed pitcher Tyler Olson and infielder Ronald Torreyes from the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for minor league infielder Rob Segedin and either a player to be named later or cash considerations.

Olson and Torreyes recently were designated for assignment.

Olson, 26, made his big league debut with the Mariners last season, pitching 13 1/3 innings out of the bullpen. He gave up eight runs on 18 hits and 10 walks, seven of which were intentional.

Torreyes, 23, made his major league debut this past season and had two hits in six official at-bats.

The 27-year-old Segedin split this past season between Double A and Triple A, compiling a .287 batting average with seven home runs in 284 plate appearances.

The Dodgers also traded right-hander Joe Wieland to the Mariners for infielder Erick Mejia.
