HOUSTON -- Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin of the Kansas City Chiefs sustained a right knee injury midway through the third quarter of the AFC wild card playoff game against the Houston Texans on Saturday and did not return.

Maclin, the Chiefs' leading receiver this season, was overcome with emotion before being carted to the locker room. Kansas City coach Andy Reid said after the Chiefs' 30-0 victory that the preliminary diagnosis was a sprained knee. An MRI is scheduled for Sunday.

Maclin suffered a torn right ACL during the 2013 training camp with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Maclin departed with three receptions for 29 yards. His replacement, Chris Conley, caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Alex Smith later in the drive.
