The Philadelphia Eagles confirmed Thursday that they spoke with New York Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo about their head coaching vacancy.

The Eagles are interviewing candidates to replace Chip Kelly, who was dismissed after the team missed the playoffs and finished with a 7-9 record in 2015.

Chicago Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase has interviewed with the Eagles, who reportedly are planning a second interview with him this weekend.

The 38-year-old McAdoo has served as Giants offensive coordinator for the past two seasons. He previously worked under Green Bay head coach Mike McMarthy with the New Orleans Saints (2004), San Francisco 49ers (2005) and the Packers (2006-13).

McAdoo's status with the Giants is up in the air after Tom Coughlin announced earlier this week that he was stepping aside as head coach.
