What we learned about the Rams:

1. After Sunday's loss, coach Jeff Fisher announced that QB Case Keenum (concussion) would return to the lineup next week against Detroit. That means that QB Nick Foles has basically lost his job to Keenum for the second time in three weeks, which isn't a good arc for your career path. Foles made the decision easy, going 15 of 35 for 146 yards with an interception and a measly 43.3 passer rating.

2. Injuries are - no pun intended - hurting this team badly. CBs Trumaine Johnson and Janoris Jenkins were both out before game's end and the pass defense couldn't cope with Arizona's passing attack unless the front seven forced a quick throw or sacked Carson Palmer. The offense can't generate holes up front with both starting guards on IR.

3. P Johnny Hekker had to kick off for the first time since high school when PK Zach Hocker, who was replacing injured Greg Zuerlein (hip), strained a quad in pregame warmups. Fisher considered using WR Wes Welker, who actually kicked a field goal and an extra point during his rookie season with Miami in 2004, on kickoffs but decided on Hekker, who booted a touchback in two attempts.

PLAYER NOTES

RAMS

--CB Janoris Jenkins (concussion) left in the first quarter after being drilled by teammate T.J. McDonald but was able to return. He left for good in the third quarter when another teammate got him, and his status for next week's game with Detroit is uncertain.

--TE Lance Kendricks (concussion) was injured early in the third quarter and couldn't return to the game. His status for next week's visit from Detroit isn't known. Kendricks is a solid blocker and a dependable target for short passes near the goal line.

--PK Greg Zuerlein (right hip) was inactive for a second straight game and replaced by Zack Hocker. Hocker strained his right quad in warmups, but was able to boot a 35-yard field goal in the third quarter.
