Watson had seven birdies to claim the tournament title in an event he initially declined to play. Watson entered when Jason Day was forced to withdraw.

Rickie Fowler shot a 64 on Sunday and was third and 21-under for the tournament and Jordan Spieth (20-under) finished fourth.

Overshadowed on the final day was a 62 by Justin Rose, a course record round of 10-under that beat Watson's 63 the day before.
