CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Carolina Panthers are 9-0, but the biggest story this week is a dance.

Panthers quarterback Cam Newton irked the Tennessee Titans with his post-touchdown celebration after last Sunday's win. But while critics continue to hammer Newton, he has no plans to stop dancing.

"It takes me to a happy place," Newton said Wednesday. "People are looking at you whether you want them or not. When I see people do the celebration I do, it makes me happy."

No one can argue with Newton's success the past two seasons. He has won 12 straight starts, the longest streak by a quarterback since Peyton Manning won 17 in a row for the Broncos in 2012-13.

--Cincinnati's loss to Houston left the Panthers and Patriots as the NFL's lone remaining unbeaten teams. If not for New England's final-minute drive capped by a 54-yard field goal against the New York Giants, Carolina would be by itself at 9-0.

That might have been nice for bragging rights, but having some company could take some of the pressure off.

"If those guys go undefeated and we go undefeated, that's great," Carolina defensive tackle Kawann Short said. "We're just focused on ourselves and hope we finish up the season 16-0."

--The Panthers have 255 points this year, the most they've scored through nine games in franchise history.
