Houston Texans outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney was ruled out Friday with a sprained ankle for Sunday's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Clowney suffered the injury on Oct. 8 against the Indianapolis Colts. The next day after the Thursday night game, Clowney wore a walking boot on his right foot and a few days later he wore a brace on his ankle to practice. He missed all of this week's practices.

Clowney has 12 tackles and a forced fumble for the Texans this season after missing 12 games of his rookie year.

The 22-year-old Clowney, the No. 1 overall pick in last year's draft, returned this season after undergoing microfracture knee surgery last December.

The Texans also listed defensive end Jared Crick as questionable because of a knee injury that kept him out of practice this week. Safety Quintin Demps and wide receiver Nate Washington were ruled out with hamstring injuries.
