TORONTO -- The Toronto Blue Jays announced that they were playing their American League Division Series game against the Texas Rangers under protest on Wednesday.
The Blue Jays protested after Rangers center fielder Delino DeShields was allowed to score in the seventh inning in Game 5 after catcher Russell Martin's throw back to right-hander Aaron Sanchez on a 2-2 count hit Texas right fielder Shin-Soo Choo's bat and went to the left side of the infield. The run gave the Rangers a 3-2 lead.
