In a statement issued Sunday, the Walton County Sheriff's office said Kromer and son Zachary were fishing on Saturday when they confronted three boys over beach chairs. Kromer is alleged to have hit one of the boys in the face after throwing a fishing pole into the water. According to the sheriff's report, Kromer then threatened to kill the boy's family if he reported the incident to authorities.

The 48-year-old Kromer is in his first year in Buffalo on coach Rex Ryan's staff after working for two years in Chicago as Bears offensive coordinator.

---The NFLPA plans to file collusion charges against the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos if wide receivers Dez Bryant and Demaryius Thomas aren't signed to long-term contracts.

The Wednesday deadline for long-term deals to be reached with players given the franchise tag in free agency is expected to pass without contracts for Bryant with the Cowboys or Thomas with the Broncos. Each player would make $12.8 million under terms of the one-year tender for wide receivers in 2015.

ESPN reported that the NFLPA was planning to advance the collusion claim in hopes of getting both players closer to the annual salary of Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, who makes $16.2 million under the terms of his contract and has the highest salary-cap charge in the NFL this season.

---Former NFL quarterback Donovan McNabb's blood-alcohol level was more than twice the legal limit during an arrest in Arizona in June on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Gilbert (Ariz.) Police in suburban Phoenix said McNabb's blood alcohol tested at 0.17. In Arizona, the legal limit is 0.08, with 0.15 or higher considered extreme DUI. According to police, McNabb's vehicle rear-ended a vehicle of a police officer's wife on June 28. No one was injured and McNabb was later released after being cited.

At the scene of the accident, McNabb's eyes were "very bloodshot and his speech was slurred," the arrest report indicated. McNabb told the officer that he had been at a sports bar but wasn't drinking because he was sick.

---New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was released from the hospital Tuesday.

Pierre-Paul had his right index finger amputated as a result of a Fourth of July fireworks accident and has yet to formally contact the Giants regarding the next steps in his rehab.

Wednesday is the deadline for Pierre-Paul and the Giants to agree to a long-term extension, but the likelihood of any deal was essentially eliminated due to the injury. However, Pierre-Paul's camp told ESPN he is unlikely to sign his $14.81 million franchise tender until he is confident he can pass the team's physical.

Pierre-Paul had multiple surgeries, including amputation of his right index finger last Wednesday and having pins inserted into his thumb to stabilize fractures, according to ESPN. He is expected to be sidelined at least six weeks and perhaps longer.
