Serena Williams dominated Maria Sharapova from the opening serve on Thursday to advance to the Wimbledon ladies' final and a match against Garbine Muguruza, who is appearing in her first Grand Slam final.
"I'm really excited," Williams said after a 6-2, 6-4 victory, her 17th consecutive win over Sharapova. "I think she played really well. ... It wasn't easy out there. It was interesting."
