Tucker, 18, hit .484 with 10 home runs, 27 RBI and 29 runs scored in his senior season at H.B. Plant High School in Tampa, Florida. The left-handed hitting outfielder was named the 2014-15 Gatorade Florida Baseball Player of the Year.

Tucker is the younger brother of Astros outfielder Preston Tucker, who was drafted by Houston in the seventh round of the 2012 June Draft out of the University of Florida.

Tucker was Houston's second top-five selection in last week's draft. The Astros drafted LSU shortstop Alex Bregman with the No. 2 pick they received as compensation for failing to sign pitcher Brady Aiken with the top pick in the 2014 draft.
