My Sweet Addiction heads field for Fleur de Lis

My Sweet Addiction makes her first trip outside California to face eight other fillies and mares in Saturday night's $200,000 Fleur de Lis Handicap at Churchill Downs.

My Sweet Addiction, trained by Martin Jones for Pamela Ziebarth, will start the 1 1/8-mile Fleur de Lis from post 8 in the nine-horse field with Hall of Fame jockey Mike Smith riding.

Smith guided the 5-year-old mare to victory in last month's Vanity at Santa Anita and in March the pair won an allowance race at the track. My Sweet Addiction has banked $328,106 with four wins in 10 career starts.

America, winner of the Affectionately at Aqueduct last month, will try to get back to the winner's circle for trainer Bill Mott. Owned by Bobby Flay, America will break from the inside post with Joel Rosario getting the mount.

America, ridden by Junior Alvarado, came like a freight train down the stretch to capture the New Year's Day Affectionately Stakes by a nose to cap off a three-race win streak. However, in her next start she finished seventh in Churchill's La Troienne. The 4-year-old filly has won four of 14 lifetime starts for $309,940.
