Yankees add Santos with minor league deal

The New York Yankees have reportedly added pitcher Sergio Santos.

According to CBSSports.com, Santos has agreed to a minor league contract.

Santos elected to become a free agent when he cleared waivers after being designated for assignment by the Los Angeles Dodgers on May 27. He appeared in 12 games for the Dodgers this season, pitching to an ERA of 4.73 with no record.

The 31-year-old right-hander spent the last three seasons with Toronto and also pitched two years for the Chicago White Sox. He owns a career record of 7-12 with a 3.95 ERA and 39 saves in 192 games, all out of the bullpen.

Santos had his best season in 2011 with the White Sox when he posted 30 saves and a 3.55 ERA in 63 games.
