Philadelphia Phillies release Sizemore

The Philadelphia Phillies have released former All-Star and Gold Glove-winning outfielder Grady Sizemore.

The 32-year-old Sizemore, who was designated for assignment on May 29, hit .245 with five doubles and six RBI in 39 games this season.

For his career, Sizemore has hit .265 with 144 home runs and 491 RBI over 1,043 games with the Indians, Red Sox and Phillies.
