National League Game Summary - Washington at Chicago

Addison Russell doubled home Jonathan Herrera in the bottom of the ninth as the Chicago Cubs defeated the Washington Nationals 3-2 on Tuesday night.

Herrera reached on a fielder's choice and an error off Matt Grace (2-1), and Russell ripped a 1-0 changeup into the left-center gap for the win.

Hector Rondon (3-0) earned the win for a scoreless ninth inning, helping the Cubs snap their two-game losing streak.

Dexter Fowler opened the scoring with a leadoff shot for the Cubs in the home first.

It remained that way until Bryce Harper tied the game with a solo blast off Cubs starter Kyle Hendricks in the seventh, and Denard Span put the Nationals up 2-1 with a homer off Pedro Strop in the eighth.

Kris Bryant, who homered in Monday's series opener, launched his seventh homer of the season in the home eighth off Aaron Barrett to tie the game at 2-2.
