Jace Peterson, Andrelton Simmons and Cameron Maybin each had an RBI for the Braves, who were coming off a three-game sweep of Miami. Mike Foltynewicz (2-1) gave up five runs on eight hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in five innings.

Tampa got a quick run in the first as Kevin Kiermaier tripled to leadoff and came on a single from Souza for a 1-0 lead.

Atlanta, though, answered in the second. With the bases loaded, Simmons worked a walk to force in a run and Maybin brought in another with a single. A groundout from Peterson later in the frame made it a 3-1 game.

The Rays got one back in the third as Souza singled, stole second and scored on a single from Longoria.

Tampa tied the game in the fourth as Cabrera led off the frame with his second homer of the season, and went on top in the fifth.

With two outs, James Loney kept the inning alive with a walk and took second on a wild pitch. Forsythe then punched a single to left that scored Loney, and DeJesus followed with a double to center that scored Forsythe for a 5-3 lead.

Atlanta didn't get a runner past second the rest of the contest, and Brad Boxberger pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his 11th save of the season.
