Shelby Miller came within one out of throwing the first no-hitter for the Atlanta Braves in more than 21 years.

Miller faced the minimum 26 batters against the Miami Marlins before giving up a first-pitch single up the middle to Justin Bour with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning on Sunday afternoon.

The right-hander gave up another single to Dee Gordon on a grounder behind the second base bag before the game ended on Martin Prado's pop-up.

The Braves won the game 6-0 for their second three-game sweep of the Marlins in Miami this season.

Atlanta hasn't thrown a no-hitter since Kent Mercker's against the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 8, 1994.
